Default Forwarding a Domain Name to my eUK site.

Exactly what the title suggests...

I am new to website hostings, hosting, etc. so please forgive me if this is a simple question....

the domain dummysite.com is at a website hosting called freeparking.co.uk ... I don't actually own the domain, so I can't tell you exactly what the admin screen says, but the person who does, wants to point it to the new website hosting I've created and hosted on eUK...

He's done something called "web forwarding" and done that straight to the IP of the webserver. I'm on a shared IP. All we're getting is the standard IIS Web Server page cannot be displayed page.

Is there something special that needs to be done here? Is it something other than Web forwarding that needs to be done? or this something incredibly simple I'm overlooking???

I do remember something called A records and MX records an CNAME records for my Computer Science course, but can't remember what they do and whether they are relevant here....

Any help would be appreciated...
