Yes, but when you go into file sharing and you have to mess about with port forwarding and forward different ports for different software it is a pain. Especially when there is the easier way called Internet Connection Sharing!! - It does the same thing as a router just with a lot less hassle! The speed of the connection on the connected computers also seemed to go down (suprisingly to me) when I used a router as opposed to just sharing the connection.

My two cents anyway .
