I would like to sign up for the eukhost platinum package and switch my hosting from Hostmonster.com, my current US-based host.
To be fair they have been excellent since I set up with them six months ago. My problem is that I'm based in the UK and all my
website hostings will be UK content-driven and for a UK based customer market. At the moment I have only one site'live' with Hostmonster which I launched a week ago. It's already showing up at position 11 in a google full search but shows no record with google when a potential visitor selects google's PAGES FROM THE UK option - which I know many people, including myself, use. I've since estabished that my
website hostings won't show in this option ever while my
website hostings are hosted outside the UK. For obvious reasons it's crucial I switch to a UK host and eukhost seems to tick all the right boxes for what I require. Hostmonster has cpanel etc so, from reading on the eukhost
website hosting, I understand it shouldn't be too painful to move things across (email accounts, domain folders etc). I've spoken to Hostmonster and they fully understand my predicament about the PAGES FROM THE UK issue. They say they will do evenything to liaise with any new hosting service I choose. I have about 25 domain names registered with them and would like to leave them with Hostmonster and renew with them at the right time...but have hosting elsewhere. I'm a bit confused about the first steps to take and would appreciate any advice. I'm a bit anxious about getting anything procedurally wrong for fear of impacting on the only 'live'
website hosting I currently have. The live
website hosting is a standalone addon
website hosting from the main
website hosting registered to open the account with Hostmonster. That domain name was free as part of the package with Hostmonster so can that still be carried across to eukhost even though I'm cancelling with HOstmonster and they are reimbursing the payment I've made for the remainder of the hosting package I signed up to with them (about 18 months of it left). Or should the primary domain name I registered with Hostmonster stay with them and point to eukhost or something. I'm a bit out of my depth on the best way to proceed and would appreciate any hand-holding advice.
