I personally think that is the key to the success of both Dictionary.com and Google - normally if a
website hosting starts getting popular the webmasters overload it with advertisements, get involved with dodgy yet profitable spyware / adware projects and overload the home page among others with too much information.
Simplicity, transparenty, accountability and reliability seem to be the key to both of these success stories
