You have a main key to your car and you do the maintenance as and when needed, using different "doors". To get the fule tank filled, you open up the fuel tank almost every second day. Whereas to change content of storage, you open up the "boot". This looked like FTP to me. When you need to change some material on the website hosting, just use the FTP credentials. When you need to do some maintenance, like adding battery/coolant/ you can use CPANEL to do maintenance tasks like add/remove email ids, manage database or check stats etc. In case of a major repair, or to add a new engine accessory you need to open up the engine, using WHM.
However they all use the same admin username/password, albeit via different login interfaces. Just like there is only one key in my example, which is used to drive, open up boot or bonnette or fuel-tank.
