I don't know any more than you about when the email is going to be back up however what I suggest you do is if you're on HC, put in a request to transfer to a Plesk server a.s.a.p. This will mean all the hassle of your website hosting being moved (it's going to be a mandatory move anyway) will be done now while you're having problems. Tech support can do this for you but if you bought your domain name with someone else, you will have to update your nameservers. I'd check with tech support about whether they can move any emails stored on the server (it depends whether you've been using IMAP or POP3 to connect) but I'm sure they'll be able to clarify.

And I would think someone from tech support will be on here soon to give an update.
