Protecting the mail directory with password protection isnt going to help.
You need to login to cPanel > Mail > Configure mail accounts > Add new email account eg:
test@wysifa.net.
Access that specific email account using
http://wysifa.net/webmail with
test@wysifa.net as username & it's respective password.
In short, you can create multiple mailboxes & access them from the same URL ie:
http://wysifa.net/webmail
