Nice link there, It always amazes me that godaddy are so popular but I guess your post answers that question; it's the first one people stumble across!
I personally swear by fasthosts/ukreg for domain registrations simply because of the control it gives me, I don't have to rely on anyone else to get something changed, when dealing with customers who want stuff and want it NOW this is a huge plus
(one of the many reasons I use eUKHost, too)
It's also nice to be able to register a domain with no hassle, they store your contact info and credit card details, so it's more or less one click (compared to GoDaddy's 30-40 clicks!) - although this isn't so good on the wallet
