Whether this is good or bad I'm open to suggestion — all I'm saying is that most recently since aligning these records I have not had any mail held in queue due to deferrals by Yahoo (but it's probably too early to tell).

I'm going to continue with my current test ...
This will be a never ending process. With Yahoo today, Hotmail tommorrow and maybe AOL day after!

Whether these factors will have positive influence on Yahoo servers remains to be seen — you suggest not, likewise eUKhost — is that correct? Whether you confirm or deny
I didn't say it won't work. In fact I believe, Sooner or later, it will be required and will have a positive effect.

You have an advantage over me in that I don't know any of Nige's domains — I presume you do because he sent you emails? Anyway, though I'm no expert in these matters, I'm comparing my own dedicated server DNS records with those of eUKhost's Viking and Liverpool and, in my case, the SPF records of server itself and now all accounts use the same master IP of the server, whereas Viking and Liverpool do not follow this format.
I know only two of his domains. adding RsvEcosse's domains to these, I can visualize the general state of the server.

The "master IP" you're referring to must be the A record of the domain. It does not matter, you're on Linux, they're on windows. Their webserver box is different from the mailserver. So when they add "A MX" it covers the A record and MX record, which is sufficient for the SPF fulfillment. When you add an IP specifically, it is to indicate an additional IP which is allowed to send mail for the domain, such as your home/office PC.

Even in your domains, if the mailserver and webserver are on the same box, you do not need IP4xx.xxx.xxx.xxx parameter.

So yes, RSVEcosse has no SPF records for a couple of his domains I checked and he's on Viking, so I'm left wondering whether the changes that Mark claims to have made have yet to propagate?
Propagation does not matter when you read records from authoritative server. Basically you're enquiring the master dns for the domain about the records. Propagation is the same data should show on all servers worldwide.

I do believe that eukHost needs a dedicated team at the moment to look at and set SPF records for all of their servers. The issue is that sometimes individual domains have different DNS settings, so it is not possible to check individual domains, thousands in numbers. It is going to be a slow and time consuming process.

Hope that clarifies.
