Gary and Nige, I'm sure you're both still highly frustrated by these problems but I wanted to let you know that I still have 100% success with all my onboard accounts who send email to Yahoo mailboxes, including those of the worst offender that I mentioned previously, who today sent another mass-mailing to his buddies but without problem this time (these include recipients at Yahoo and BT who have always suffered deferrals previously to my most recent changes).

I don't know exactly why this is currently working but to reiterate, I'm not using DomainKeys; my server's hostname's DNS record carries an SPF entry that matches that of all the accounts on the server; all the RDNS records reflect the same IP address — it's a totally common theme.

I'm left wondering if this is critical because when I look at Viking for example, it doesn't follow that formula. I'm confused by the SPF records having different IPs to that of Viking's own IP, yet they seem to be held within the same datacentre at Maidenhead, albeit under ownership of two different companies?! The SPF record of rsresourcing.co.uk doesn't match that of Viking itself, but it does use Viking's IP address — why is that and does it make a difference?

Footnote: Gary, you haven't responded to two PMs I sent — did you receive them please? I dislike it that vBulletin doesn't prompt you when you have unread PMs, so maybe you're just unaware of them?
