It's not at all obvious in any single topic that you are (super*) moderators (though I concede it is possible to find out elsewhere, as you indicated), but you seem to be missing the point which is that we have had a situation where a non-staff moderator is using an eUKhost avatar and was mistakenly seen as being a staff member because of it (as well as having a username prefixed with 'eUK').
BTW, I'm not knocking Thomas — he generally does a good job around here and has only recently become infamous for his 'Welsh diplomacy'!
In my opinion an apology wasn't necessary ...
LATE EDIT: Of course, this would all be resolved at a stroke if Robert or Mark gave him a job!
