Default Outgoing mail server port has changed on all email addresses set up to 465 from 26?

Had a client call up and ask for a couple of new email addresses be set up on their domains.

Did so and before sending them the settings they needed to enter into Outlook, clicked on "Configure email client" to check the new ones were still set on Port 26.

However, in there it says this:-


Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) viking.eukhost.com (server requires authentication) port 465

Checked my other email addresses in the same way within cPanel and they all appear to have changed to this 465 thing?.

The strange thing is, I've just checked I can send and receive with a few of them with my Outlook settings left on Port 26 rather than 465 and they are all working ( or appear to be ) fine?.

Is this a recent change?. I didn't know anything about it??!!!.

Why is it still working running through Port 26 and should I change all the settings ( and advise my clients ) to change over their Outlook settings to Port 465 from their current settings of 26?.
