Yes, the main differences is the extra disk space and bandwidth - which I am guessing are the main "extras" that you are looking for? I assume the thing that is making you want to change your platinum package at the moment is the fact that you are running out of disk space, bandwidth or both.

When you have reseller packages you no longer require "add on domains". You only use that when you are creating lots of different website hosting with different domains on the same account.

Now with a reseller account you can create a seperate account for each domain, so no need for any add on domains. That way you will get cPanel access for each domain and all the sites are seperate and independant from each other and you will have a master WHM account to manage all the sub accounts off.
