This can vary immensely, from instantaneous to a couple of days - but on average within a couple of hours.
I think the easiest way to check is to upload a test file - call it index.html and overwrite the existing file.
Before navigating to that page - you could try a
whois lookup for your domain and there you can see if the nameserver change has propagated.
