I need to purchase a semi-
dedicated server and transfer a couple of sites from my current
VPS Hosting.
Normally I would need to transfer sites and data across and then wait for DNS replication. I'm hoping that I can bypass this a bit - would it be possible to transfer the IP address of my current
VPS Hosting to the new semi-dedicated so that the only downtime for my customers is the time it takes to reload their data?
Also (now I'm really pushing my luck) is there any chance that during my switchover period I could only be charged for one of the servers (obviously the more expensive semi-dedicated)?
