OpenX - ftp_connect() error

It would appear that now when attempting to access parts of the adminCP of OpenX the following error has started occurring...
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ftp_connect() in /home/stneotsf/public_html/ads/www/admin/lib-ftp.inc.php on line 55
4) Anything you might have done which may have caused the problem:
Nothing, it had been working fine.
5) Anything you have done already, to try and resolve the problem:
Viewed the OpenX support forums and there's no obvious patch, however it suggests PHP ftp_connect may have been disabled by the host.
6) Any additional information you think is relevant:
If ftp_connect has recently been disabled is there any way to enable it via htaccess or similar so that it can run in the folder where OpenX is installed? Thankfully at present the only banners running our 'in house' however long term there may be paid banner ads on the site.
