first we need to find out if its really our network which is creating problems for customers on Virgin broadband. Earlier we had problems with Tiscali and traceroute reports proved that something was going wrong in routing process. We switched our network to other carrier and tiscali problem got rectified immediately.
We've not received any proof so far which would find our network to be at fault. You are able to ping your
website hosting when you face such outage and there is no reason why ftp and http would fail while ping and ssh continues to work. if there is a problem on our end then your full access should get blocked and not just ftp or http.
