We've not received any proof so far which would find our network to be at fault. You are able to ping your website hosting when you face such outage and there is no reason why ftp and http would fail while ping and ssh continues to work. if there is a problem on our end then your full access should get blocked and not just ftp or http.

SSH only works if you have a session open during the time of the outage. If you don't have an SSH window open before it goes down, it wont let you connect.
