Semi Dedicated server is not a fully private dedicated server that you own yourself. Semi dedicated server is a separate account on the server that is shared only between 6 clients. Semi-dedicated hosting accounts are setup on a powerful Dual Quad Core Intel Xeon E5420 processors. The servers is having 12 GB DDR2 RAM which ensures that each semi-dedicated account hosted on the server gets at least 2 GB of Guaranteed RAM.

In case of Dedicated Server you will have total control of the server and you can use all the resources of the server. The 2 GB of RAM on Dedicated Server will be for your website hostings only and it wont be shared with anyone. I would recommend you to go with a Dedicated Server as you will get much better performance on it.
