Hello,

Which MSSQL version do you wish to run on the server. If it is SQL Server 2000 then it will need allot of RAM on the server as it is resource intensive.

It also depends on your database size and number of queries it runs on a single request, regardless of version. We have seen just one badly configured database and script over loading our E5420 servers with 8GB RAM.

So it depends on how busy your web site hosting is and how frequently it updates the database.
