Just to remind anyone whose memory is short or who are too young to remember the conservative years:

YouTube - UK Labour Party - Remember? 2005

The leadership might have changed but the party is the same. The key facts from this video are: (for the benefit of the people who can't watch it)

80's TUC protests - "Britain can't work without jobs" - One of the highest times of unemployment in the history of the country.

Poll Tax introduction - finally scrapped in favour of the Council Tax system after major backlash against how unfair the Poll Tax was, but not before it did damage to the economy and Britains people - too little too late in the minds of voters. Caused massive backlash, public protests and unprecendentated violence against government property and the law enforcement agencies.

Unemployment increases by an addition 1,000,000 people in a comparitively short space of time due to poor Conservative policies and decision making under Employment Secretary Micheal Howard.

Black Wednesday cost the British economy £3.3 billion while under Conservative leadership.

Interest rates hit an all time high of 15%.

A quarter of a million (250,000) British families lost their homes.

1.5 million British homes suffered negative equity.

Police numbers slashed by over a thousand as fear of crime increased.

Opposed independence for the Bank of England to retain ultimate control over it.

Opposed the minimum wage - labelled it "extreme" and "dangerous" - the same minimum wage which now protects the rights of workers and stops slave labour and the same minimum wage many of you will no doubt have depended on, depend on or will depend on in the future.

Reduced spending for Hospitals and the NHS

Cut funding for Education and Schools

Opposed tax credits for families on low incomes who now depend on them not to struggle - while trying to implement tax cuts for the rich.

Is this the kind of government that you want running the country? (and half of these points were what Micheal Howard managed to do all by himself - imagine what a whole cabinet of them could do!).

I just think some memories are very short, or some people forget the past a little too easily.
