So if I registered now without paying £12 my details would be there? Will my old domain registration always be hidden - eg when i renew it later in the year?
Its not that your old domain details are hidden - its just when you've signed up eUKhost has inserted their details. If they were hidden the whois database would say "This registration is private" and would have "Private" written after address, telephone etc.

I would imagine any domains that you register from now on will include your details unless you opt for ID protection.
