Default How to Install Joomla

What is Joomla?

Joomla! is a free open source content management system for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.

How to install Joomla ?

1. Download MSI installer of Joomla from joomla.org/download.html and save it on the server.

2. Create the Mysql database from your Windows Plesk control panel with appropriate username & password.

3. Extract the Zip file on your local machine and upload the Joomla folder into the httpdocs folder of your domain

4. Set modify permissions to the httpdocs folder.You can use the File Manager option in your Windows Plesk control panel. Give modify permissions to IWAM_ & IUSR_ users.

5. If you want Joomla to be installed in a sub folder of your domain then it will be required to set as an Application directory. You can go to the Web Directories option in Plesk control panel and click on Creat new virtual directory option.

6. Once it done, browse the path Joomla.com/Joomla

7. Start Joomla Installation Wizard.
