I'm not sure quite actually cause our work's ISP to get blocked, on account that we have a fixed IP which is only used Mon-Fri (generally) by only our office. I'm inclined to think that as this occurred around the same time the proxy attacker was spotted someone went a bit OTT in terms of IP banning on all servers anyone who appeared to access eUKhost hosted sites/facilities a lot without doing a WHOIS to see whether the IP was likely to be a genuine user.

You are right. We blocked IPs which connected to more than 5 servers for span of 4 - 5 days. I think you have accounts on more than 7 servers and you were blocked.
Attack was done using more than 1000 proxy IPs, so there was no reason for us to consider someone genuine with FTP access on more than 5 servers.
