I have a Windows Reseller Hosting account that uses Plesk...
Ive just created a new
website hosting for my band, we already have a domain name registered with 123 reg (theeyelashesthatatemanhattan.co.uk) and pointing to our old
website hosting that is hosted on a different server.
So before creating our new
website hosting I set a physical hosting account on my reseller account using a temporary domain name (a subdomain of my primary domain name - eyelashes.hostedwebdesign.co.uk).
Now our new
website hosting is almost complete I updated the name servers at 123 reg with the eukhost dns details, I then added a domain alias to the "eyelashes.hostedwebdesign.co.uk" hosting account, setting it to "theeyelashesthatatemanhattan.co.uk".
After a few hours Ive noticed that when I enter "www.theeyelashesthatatemanhattan.co.uk" into my browser I get sent to our new
website hosting, but when I dont enter the "www." prefix I still get sent to the old
website hosting.
Is this just because Ive not waited long enough for the domain name to propagate through the net, or have I done something wrong?
(jeez that was hard to explain, I hope it makes sense to somebody!)
