Hi,
I'll put it this way -
With a linux shared hosting plan each account is assigned cPanel as the control panel. The control panel will allow you to add sub-domains and addon domains.
Sub-domains: A subdomain is a subsection of your website. The Sub-domain will use a prefix with the domain name like: prefix.mysite.com
Addon Domain: You have two domains mysite.com and myanothersite.com
Now you want the two domains to be totally separate websites. That's when you add it as an addon. Creating an addon domain gives you the ability to control multiple domains from a single account.
Coming on to a Linux reseller package, you as a reseller have the ability to create unlimited shared hosting accounts. These accounts have their own cPanel just like our shared hosting plans I explained above.
The bottom line is:
You can create sub-domains and addon domains with Linux shared hosting accounts and sub-domains, addons and separate shared accounts with Linux Reseller hosting accounts.
I hope that helps.
