In future, I think most things will be done over the Internet, and home PCs will revert back to a form of thin-client. For example, all your Office type apps will be run from online web-apps, stored online, and managed online by a few giants like MS and Google. We'll just control them from home via our TVs, media centres, brain implants or whatever, and that's where Chrome OS comes in...
