yeah i get that exactly that with a few templates, i found out the reason tho, if you open the zip file the template comes in, and i found that if the template files are not in the first folder, it won't work. For instance my template had the folder - finalfantasy - finalfantasy (again) - then the template files.
so i took all the template files and shoved them into the the first folder leaving - finalfanasy - template files. I then took the unzipped template (minus the extra folder) and plonked them in the templates folder through my ftp program. It then worked. I did this with several templates that wouldn't work properly and found that it sorted out the problem.
