So I thought it must be something to do with the last cPanel upgrade to 11.25. It's hard for me to believe that eAccelerator was the culprit in your case
Thank you for providing us with this information (fix rather), we'll definitely have this put forward with the makers of the control panel (cPanel) & have them look into this issue with priority
I'm glad that the issues have been rounded up & that your server is performing well after binning/removing eAccelerator
