Hi
Right, I've found an email from Shane who replied to my query that went along the lines of...
Quote:
"We have a client who wishes to have PDFs, Word documents, and PowerPoint files searchable on their website hosting - i.e. their content indexed so that they appear in serach results.
Do you have indexing for this and is is accessible via PHP scripting?"

1) Our Servers support PHP(4.4.4 - default) as well as MySQL(4.1++) (Unlimited MySQL Databases) , definitely in this situation Linux would be the best suggestive for indexing. Here are the links -
a)http://www.eukhost.com/packages.php
b)http://www.eukhost.com/<a href="http...</a>_linux.php
c)http://www.eukhost.com/dedicated.php
The above mentioned links are in relation to your requirements and budget, however all of the above are best suitable for indexing.
2) Also, is this index is easily accessible via PHP scripting (i.e. can it be integrated into their current search script)?
Ans. The index will be accessible through PHP scripting.

Now that I have purchased the hosting (Linux Gold), I need to start to update my CMS search script (written in PHP that currently searches the MySQL database for results) to also search the searchable index of the PDF/Word/PowerPoint files.
I also have no idea how to control this indexing i.e. to point it to index one folder etc...
Thanks in advance
