You need to read this thread from the beginning.

gatz82 said that he needed a redirect so we told him to setup redirect from control panel or through .htaccess. by default your addon domain will not redirect and it will shows respective website hosting in the browser if you open the addon domain only.

It will redirect to a sub URL on the main domain only if you setup a redirect.
