Actually I forgot to mention the changes in Makefile, which are as follows :

Need to locate apxs :
#locate apxs
Output should be :
/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs OR
/usr/sbin/apxs
Now we will have to edit Makefile :
vi Makefile
change APXS=apxs to APXS=[APXS PATH]
