Red Hat systems engineer to assist in the migration of mission critical applications from Sun Solaris 9 to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL5) utilizing XEN virtualization technology in a Highly Available clustered environment. The hardware environment we are migrating to includes IBM and Egenera blade servers in an enterprise SAN environment. The systems and applications to be migrated utilize Oracle database services, LDAP directory and authentication services, SAMBA, C/C++, BEA Weblogic Server 8.1, BIGIP, Apache, NFS, Oracle Application Server and Oracle Internet Directory.
Experience in the following areas is required:
•Configuration and management of RedHat (RHEL4) Highly Available production server environments (5 years).
•Red Hat virtual and para-virtual servers using XEN virtualization technology.
•Red Hat HA environments utilizing Red Hat Global File System and Red Hat Cluster Suite.
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
•Configuration/management of Red Hat OpenLDAP client/server environments. Server build configuration and patch management using Kickstart and Red Hat Satellite server.
•Managing and tuning Red Hat servers that host Oracle database environments.
•IBM or Egenera blade server environments.
•Management and support of J2EE Application Server environments such as
•BEA Weblogic 8/9
