this trick has worked for us so far. one customer was comparing pricing of our domain registration service with some other companies and I told him to register domains from other companies for first year and get them moved to us next year. He said "why would I move those to you for 2nd year when you charge twice for domain registration"
my answer was "after 1 year £9 wont make any difference to you, your
website hosting will grow and your domains will be valued more than hundred times of £9 so it would be better for you to keep your domain and
website hosting in 1 place"
guess what he did ?
he registered his domains with us and now he has a
dedicated server with us. that discussion made him focus on his growth and his success makes me feel a better CMO
