View Full Version : How big is your monitor?
Just trying to get an idea of the average size monitor these days for web page development. If you could 'vote' for your monitor size, it would be great :)
17" ViewSonic at work & 19" flat screen CRT at home :D:D:D I voted for 17" as it's used more than the latter one...

19" Widescreen :)
thats more than sufficient for me and I won't consider any other option. I need to maintain distance of more than 3 feets to feel comfortable with 19" widescreen.

Can't add anymore...
Haven't Dell UltraSharps been able to do that for ages??

Oh the choice! How comes?
New laptop, last years new laptop, two desktops at home and then three different computer systems at uni!

Talk about being picky with laptops! ;)
I need the new one as I'm doing a lot of travelling this year and I'd rather be taking a 12" than a 17" widescreen on a plane. ;) And last years laptop has replaced the old desktop at home.
Hmm interesting how quite a few have voted for 22" screens...
I suppose more or less everyone is running at least 17" these days?

We have a vote for 12" though. However do not see any explanation about it.

12" was from Jonathon. Don't 12" laptop screens run above 800x600 though?
15.4" TFT
My Grandparents have a 22" TFT screen :-|
Yep, I'm running at 1280x800 on the 12.4". And I think on desktops you'll be looking at 17" and above but laptop sales are up so I would recon that the 15.4" is still going to be the sensible minimum to code for.

Yeh, my 15.4" laptop screens runs at 1280x800. Thats too big to carry around IMO, how did you cope with a 17"? Crazy.
It rarely moved from my desk and that is why with travelling more I needed a smaller and lighter laptop. My 17" was mainly because I was going backwards and forwards from uni on the train so couldn't pop a desktop in the car and it did mean if I wanted to take a PC into uni I could.
This new laptop is because I'm doing transatlantic travels next year and I'm going to be using it to take all my lecture notes on. It's perfect as it fits in my bag with all my other stuff and doesn't weight a ton.
