Our Research and Development Team has successfully managed to implement Mirroring Solution to offer a hosting plan with 100% uptime Guarantee. This solution has been possible with FAM and RSYNC modules and we will launch this new Shared Hosting plan for Corporate customers starting from 1st July 2007.

We will have 2 high configuration servers in 2 different racks out of which one server will be the master server. Both this servers will be Quad Core Xeons with 4 GB RAM on each server and all websites will run from the master server. Any file which gets modified on the master server will flag itself and FAM will get notified about the Flag. FAM will send request to rsync to copy the file on Slave server and the data will be immediately moved to the Slave server. This process occurs in fraction of seconds and hardly any of the server resources get used even if the files which are changed are of larger size.

In case if the master server goes down due to some hardware problem or any other reason then the monitoring script running on Slave server will bind the Secondary IP of master server ( IP allocated to websites ) and all other Dedicated IPs on the slave server. Websites will start resolving from the Slave server in fraction of seconds and no one will notice any sort of problem with their websites. Our Team will get notified about the problems with master server so they will take necessary steps to bring it online and get the data synced again from the Slave server.

Our Research and Development Team had put 2 VPS's under rigorous testing for 2 days to see the resource usage of this mirroring service and the results have been better than our expectations.

As of now we will start this plan for Linux - cPanel customers and this plan will have limited space and limited domains restrictions. This plan will be strictly for Corporate customers with important business websites only.

Just wondered what the verification / requirements are to gain one of these websites. I know a few registered businesses that have websites / are looking to get them so I could pass on the details but would obviously not do this if they arn't able to get one!!

I assume you have to prove that the business is registered with Companies House or something?

It wont be that sort of verification. We will simply call to know the kind of website you will host on the servers and to know basic intentions behind hosting your website on this plan. We would like to keep only genuine customers on this servers from the beginning to avoid any sort of problems for the servers.

We will need to stand on our 100% uptime guarantee so 1 bad customer can spoil the show for us

Research & Development team is working on that part as well but windows has got inbuilt feature of Mirroring and Load Balancing so it wont take much time for us to implement similar service on windows servers. We will see success for cPanel plan first and then within next 10 days we will launch same service for windows as well.
