Default eUKhost offers SAS Hard drives with Q6600

eUKHost now offer SAS (Serial Attached SCSI{Small Computer Interface System}) hard drives along with its eUK Q6600 dedicated web hosting plan. SAS hard drives have 15000 RPM speed, available in 73 GB, 146 GB & 300 GB storage capacity range.

Benefits of SAS over SATA
• SAS hard drives have 15,000 RPM where as SATA hard drives have only 7200 RPM
• SAS hard drives are recognized by their World Wide Name (WWN) where as SATA Hard drives are recognized by their port number connected to host bus adapter
• SATA is widely used as a general-purpose successor to Parallel ATA (Advanced Technology Attachment), while the SAS is generally used for critical server applications.
• For error recovery and reporting, SATA drives use ATA SMART commands, whereas SAS drives use SCSI commands which have more functionality.
• SAS hard drives use higher signaling voltages than SATA hard drives which may be used in server backplanes.

Sounds like a step in the right direction and that it will make the servers more reliable. Well done!
