Well I hope things are sorted. Will see if I get any complaints from my mates if things are not working.
Thanks again both for your help.

EWs setup is not only similar - it is identical.
For some reason though I've always had problems using FTP with FP / EW. But there doesn't seem to be an obvious problem!

Well as it stands everything seems OK at the moment. Hopefully that's the end of it.

Hi folks,
I'm on the Expression Web team and wanted to clarify something that someone else said in this thread. Expression Web does *not* rely on FPSExtensions. We provide support for them in that you can choose to publish with FPSE however other than that, the program doesn't implement anything that relies on FPSE or anything else proprietary. No FrontPage webbots either. Although if your pages do have webbots in them, they'll still work as expected and remain editable in Expression Web. The program was created for building standards-based websites using HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, or PHP.
I'm glad to know that eukhost is committed to supporting FPSE for those of you that choose to use them. I keep hearing of other hosts that are eliminating support for FPSE entirely.

Oh yes, the implication was not that EW relies on FPSE - but it is, if you like the default or "preferred" way to upload sites from EW. From what I remember FP, just like EW supported many ways of uploading, including FTP - although I have always had problems uploading via FTP from EW or FP but no problems using a dedicated FTP client - rather strange :S.

EW also has the nice feature of live edit via FTP which is good for fixing things on someone elses account.

Ah, I hadn't noticed that - I will definitely have to have a look at that next time I use EW.

Is EW worth the cost though?

Yep. It kicks the ass of frontpage and is actually a pretty cool program to use.
