Offsite Data Backup

Hi,

Well of course I didn't mean I wanted to know all the technical details of what goes on behind the scenes - but form a users point of view it would be good to a have clear article discussing:
(1) Exactly what the backup does - i.e. the what?/when?/where? the system backs up
(2) How the restore functions work
(3) How the notifications work
(4) Any other features/setup

I believe that eukhost will be setting up my account this weekend - so what I said was that when I get all the answers myself I would be happy to write an article for others.

I can understand that. Allow me time till 27th and I will get the article prepared before the end of this month.

As of now everything has been configured properly for your backup account and it is making daily backup besides the notification thing.

Hi,

Was a tutorial produced? If so can we have the URL here?
What I'm particularly interested in is whether I could access the backup a take a particular file, say an image or logo for re-use. In other words what is the granularity of the backup? Is it

1. You can have your whole 'Semi-Dedicated' replaced as of last Saturday
2. You can have replaced and all else left unaltered.
3. You can get a particular file and not alter anything else.
4. Any or all of the above.

Hello Chris,

You will get full SSH and FTP access to your backup space and by default each and default each and every configuration file associated with your account as well as your data and databases are copied in your backup space.

As you will have FTP access to your backup space so you can yourself download any particular file and restore it on your live account or you can request our staff to do it. You can also request our staff to restore full backup of your account in case something goes wrong with your account.
