The rapid changes in technology and in societies creates new trends, the average Indian youth today is more confident, outward-looking, more liberal in terms of attitudes and values and social norms as compared than 15 years ago, this might be one of the reason that they easlily attract to a western name. On other way of look western names are smaller easy to remember and easy to pronounce and create instant gratification to US/UK origin customers rather than an indian name like vyankateshwar/ krinshnamaraju pillai etc. I could not agree more that any one can expect a fake name that suggest the level of fake service. I am a christian of indian origin, am I not eligible to be called as Paul.

Of course you are elligible to be called Paul if Paul is your given name but I don't think EVERY employee in this case is a Goan or Indian Sub-Continental Christian. It's a bit patronising of call centres to assume Westerners cannot, or will not, acknowledge Indian names. Similarly, it is incumbent on Westerners to try to learn and understand that the world is not made up of Peters, Pauls and Johns or Traceys, Angelas and Valerys.

The use of fake names in call centres aimed at serving a particular sector is clear; that is to engender the feeling that the recipient is dealing with people from their own culture and that my friend IS FAKE, whether you agree with the process or not. I am defined as a white middle-class educated British citizen who married a Gujerati Indian some 20 years ago.I did not expect my wife to change her name.

Now please let's get real and let's start being honest.

Back to the issue at hand, I've noticed that we lost some SQL and code data in this nonsense of a problem. There's evidence that EUK's backups or processes are seriously flawed. Either that or my boards have been hacked

I was incharge of restore and I'd ensured that all databases and emails were restored as they were on the old drive. If you think that your forum was hacked then we can rectify the problem for you or we can restore weekly backup of your database.

Anyone else having problems on this server at the moment? We're having all sorts of SQL drop outs. Users can't even post on our phpBB boards without errors over the last few days. Most depressing

Me too, this is a joke and the worse hosting I've ever used, I asked for a full refund as they are not providing the service they say they do and their sales support don't even know UK consumer law.

Can I suggest someone who actually has a comprehention of the english language sort out this crap.

Vallery was asking you for URL where you were getting error and you were expected to give the URL where sql error was showing and not your domain name again and again.

Please clarify what was wrong with her language.

If you fail to explain your problem then how do you expect a solution ?
