It can take 4 - 5 days for registration of domain so take your time for posting. It wont help replying all threads in 1 day

Hi admin
I search google for "free domain" and this forum came up. I have a free web host with a subdomain name, my question is if I post the amount of quality posts will I win the domain and then use it with my free webhost?
Thanks

Yes, after you get your free domain, you will be able to use that domain elsewhere with another host as well.

What a fantastic offer! I came across this website after following a link sent to me by a friend, and am glad that I did! I've actually been waiting for a while, until I get a design and hosting sorted, before buying a .co.uk domain for myself. It looks like, if I am able to make 60 quality posts, I won't be needing to pay for the domain.
A very generous offer, so thank you Ryan.
By the way, may I ask how long you plan to continue this offer for? I may be away for a few days/weeks and would like to participate, although if you are planning on ending the offer very soon then I suppose I may have to reconsider buying the name
All the best.

Thank you for the clarification narutorasengan16. That really is a wonderful offers and, as stated before, incredibly generous.
I hope that in participating I am able to help others here and to share advice or experience I may have obtained over the years, in order to repay you for this offer.

hairyfreak,
This contest is still open and we plan to continue with this contest as long as members contribute good content to the forum. If we decide to close the offer then we will update the thread accordingly.

Likewise, shadows. I would most likely reinvest the money into improving upon the design or adding some features/time to the hosting package I have.
Again, Ryan, thank you. It really is an incredibly generous offer that you have here and I hope that people make the most of it.

Likewise anilshiv1. I believe that the promotion is good in that it encourages members to continue to post and contribute to the website, rather than simply posting for the sole purpose of acquiring a free domain name.
I wish you well in your experience with this website, it has been great for me to be a member so far.

I have a question. actually a few. Sorry if it's already been asked, but:
If we register for a .com domain, can we put it on an invisionfree forum, and cover the entire link, with the .com domain? Also, will it extend? Instead stay the exact url? And, if we get a new forum, can we switch the .com domain name to the new forum? Because I plan on getting paid hosting and want this domain for the normal forum, but in a month when I get the new one, I'd like it to go to that one instead. Thanks.

I don't think that I was able to understand more than 50% of what you posted but here's my answer as per my guess.
You can use the main hosting domain for your main website and use the free domain for forum you wish to start. You can either put the forum in internal directory of the free domain which will be your addon domain or you can make the forum as index of addon domain.
You can swap both domains in future if you want to do so.

My appologies. I'll try to clear it up...
Can we put the domain name on an invisionfree forum, and have it mask the url? Also, if we register a new forum, can we have the domain name mask the url of the new forum instead of the old forum?

From what I understand (and what I think you are asking). If you get a new forum you can change your domain to point to the new forum rather than the old forum.
As far as masking the URL goes, if you type in www.yourdomainname.com and it points to a forum it may still show "www.yourdomainname.com" in the address bar
BUT!!
As you navigate around the forum the address will change to the real address of the forum - for example - www.otherdomain.com/forum/showthread ... and so on. You get the idea!
Hope that helps you out!
