Why do I still get the idea that he is here for the free domain? I mean it's kind of obvious don't you think?

I'm only a forum gremlin (moderator), and do not work for eUKhost in any way. Opinions expressed by me are mine only, and do not reflect those of either eUKhost or any company that may be listed above.
I don't bite, honest.

there's nothing wrong with trying for the free domain - although i'm not interested in it as I'll be stung for the renewal fee next year lol. As long as the quality of the posts is taken into consideration, then its fairly futile peppering the forum with one line responses I would have thought.

Agreed. I of course don't mind people trying to go for the competition. That is what it is there for.
But is there any need for blatent spamming.
Again, 1 post rolled out into 3 posts 5 minutes apart:

Can I just bring your attention to the post above - "What are T & C's" - And I quote from eukhost.com's post on page 6 - " younesbouazza was in hurry in the beginning but then he saw T & C's mentioned by Ryan and now he has reduced his speed..
I would therefore think that he is showing a complete disregard towards anything being said to him by anyone

I don't mind people entering the competition but if this keeps on were going to have threads with 100s of pages of crap to go through to get to the actual content which is what is completely against the idea of quality isn't it.
Personally, I don't know about anyone else, but it is just annoying me all this message splitting because it is making these threads longer than they need to be.
Can a post penalty be introduced to stop this spamming?. If people lost 10 posts from there count for posting multiple times one after another within a few minutes, where no one else has replied since there own less reply, then the spamming would go away because it wouldn't be in there interest to spam.

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly with these sentiments David, I suggest you're over-reacting with your complaints and you should be confident that the admins/moderators will sort it out — which brings me to the point of asking them:
Why is this competition open to everyone — doesn't it in itself encourage this sort of spamming? Yes I see the point in trying to win new business and generate greater participation in the forum, but is there some other benefit to eUK in this offer of a free domain to non-customers, 'cos I'm not seeing it?

I don't agree, someone has to raise the point about the spamming. The offer should only really be open to existing customers, since people are just signing up to the forum for the free domain and posting shi*e posts, which is making the forum not such an enjoyable place and is ruining some quality and important posts which are under discussion
To sum it up:
Although the idea is to expand the forum with more quality posts and to make it a better place, but it's the complete opposite: it's attracting random people with no experience who just want a free domain and are posting shi*e and are ruining decent posts. Youbones or whatever his name is, doesn't even know what Terms and Conditions means, that explains it all itself.

Josh, considering you quoted the whole of my reply to David it makes it difficult to understand which part of it you don't agree with?
My suggestion to David was it's over-reacting to complain three times about the same offence in the same thread but yes, I agree with his complaint.
If it makes any difference, you should know that earlier today Younes reacted to some of these criticisms by deleting his five most recent messages in the forum ...

I do think that we need to revise our Free Domain offer but existing offer has got some good members on this forum so closing this offer for those who don't have an account with eUKhost will bring an end to this competition. eUK customers are least bothered about a free domain as that makes no difference to them. They see their post count crossing 100 mark and then they think of getting a free domain so they are not here for a free domain.
Allow me some time to revise this offer. We can close this offer and start something else as there has to be some offer running all the time to keep Fun and Entertainment on the forum. no one will stay on the forum if you see same faces daily with same discussion on php, asp and server problems.

I appreciate all that has been said, and 247h if you are fine with forum spamming with blantent crap, then good luck, because the people who actually post real content will disappear very quick. I'm sorry but when someone has been warned repeatedly about there nosensical posting and then does it again does that not show blatent disregard for the rules?
Further to that, if these people are going to benefit from spamming the forum may I request a free domain considering I have tried to post sincerly and honstly from the beginning and I am now on 150+ posts?
I actually care about this forum, believe it or not, which is the reason I am trying to help stop the abuse on it. I don't want to see eUKhost run over by selfishness!! .
I am not trying to be horrible to anyone, but to 247h, yes I will complain when I see abuse of the forums and I will keep on doing so while it is runining genine members enjoyment of the forum. I am not the only one to say this and I dare say I will be the last person to say this - nobody likes SPAM and if the source is US based they can be prosecuted under the CAN-SPAM act of 2004!!

Hi David,
Since we started this contest there haven't been any such instances of spamming for free domain before this. We have got a few good members with the help of this contest who have been contributing regularly even after getting their domain.
I had given a warning to Younes for making irrelevant posts in the forum just to increase his post count for the free domain. Infact the five posts which 247h was referring to were deleted by me.
You are most welcome to claim your free domain anytime as you are one of the respected members of our forum.

Thank you very much Ryan!
It just seems so utterly pointless when its not going to get them anywhere! Anyway - [/rant]
Happy forum mood - karma restored .
Ryan, I assume I am opening a ticket for the domain but am I doing it with Sales? - And can they add it to my existing account?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Yes, open a ticket in our sales department from http://support.eukhost.com. Your domain would be registered and added to your existing account with us.

I think that if we're going to point fingers at anyone spamming, then we should all point at DPS.
I mean, this guy keeps spamming the forum with his so-called anti-spam messages, posting messages of little new, original content but, instead, full of quoted content stolen from other people's original content: particularly, one poor guy who has seen his earnest wish to get a domain be plagiarised by this closet spammer! If Google hears about this, they'd immediate penalise his posts for unoriginal content!
You can hardly move in this thread without seeing a rant against lttle Younesabazzahazzawazza. I think it's all in an effort to create infinite made-for-euksense posts. I urge you all to protest. Otherwise, we'll never hear the end of it as DPS makes his one-millionth post while making the boast, just like those who've climbed Everest without oxygen, that he still hasn't taken his free domain.
And poor little Younes (a modern-day Oliver Twist just after his gruel) - why does nobody ever think of the children?

I am not getting involved in arguments and I do post original content and have posted good content as other people have stated, not me.
As regards post counting - I don't care what it is, my goal isn't to get as high a number as possible in my post count!!! - There is no need for it.
Provide me one, just one good reason for post splitting?
If you read carefully avatari you will see that even Ryan has said that what he was doing was spamming and he was warned!!

Sorry, DPS, for any offence...
You seem to have taken my post a little too seriously. I was simply making a small jest (admittedly at your expense) but surely the language and style used indicated that my post was just meant to be tongue in-cheek? Playing upon the comic irony of the fact that Younes effect upon the forum has been effectively doubled by the messages posted by yourself in realtion to his spamming?
For the record: DPS is not a spammer, and I believe he has posted good, interesting and original content.
Younes is a spammer (although I feel he has unintentionally added a great deal of flavour to a recently rather stale forum) who isn't trying to post high-quality content but is out for a freebie.
In future, I shall keep my sense of humour in check on this forum. Sorry.

Oh right!! Sorry, I didn't realise you meant it as a joke! I thought you were being deadly serious and was really shocked!!
I take the point though about how his effect on the forum has lead from pages of quotes from me. In hindsight maybe a more prudent approach would have been to PM an admin with my concern.
Anyway, no hard feelings, I must need a sense of humour upgrade .

Not at all - and don't apologise, my humour is a bit too sharp sometimes anyway. I'm sure that someone on the forum will get me back at some point .

There was a time when I did think DPS was spamming for a free domain - so I can see where your comment came from AVATARI (and I thought it was funny ) - but it has since become clear that he is simply enthusiastic about this forum, rather than spamming for gain.
I'm sure if AVATARI was serious in his spamming accusation towards DPS, then he wouldn't have made it in the jovial manner in which it came across - so don't worry DPS on that score.

Well I can assure you I was never intending to spam for a free domain. In fact, I already was hosted at eUKhost with another domain on one of their top hosting packages.
If I was wanting everything for nothing I wouldn't shell out for one of the top packages now would I!!
I'm glad that it is clear that I am here to contribute and not to spam!
