Default Backup Service

Hello

I seem to remember you offering a backup service for about £20 a year. I can't seem to find it on your home page, is it still available?

It's not immediately obvious. Perhaps it would help to make it more prominent?

I'm a little bit confused about the backup service, looking at the page it seems like it suggests I can use rsync.

http://www.eukhost.com/backup.php

Features:
» Automated Daily, Weekly & Monthly backup using rsync.
However, I wasn't able to connect via rsync from my VPS and raised a ticket: #AIU-83296-938

This was the response back:

Well, rsync needs SSH access for both the source & destination server. With the backup package there is no ssh access & we
only provide ftp access. You will not be able to rsync your backup account from your vps.
To put it into context, I tried rsync over normal rsync protocol and over ssh. You can't rsync over ftp, so I'm not sure how I'll be able to use rsync at all.

Somethings not quite right...

Hello Robert,

SSH access is available on the Backup server but the port is different. I am sending you port information in PM.

Ah that would make sense, as normal practise I change the port number ssh listens on on my servers. I find that if I don't I get bomb barded with brute force attacks. Even if they don't get in, it still uses some traffic and disk space (logged failure).

Thats true.

Allowing SSH access on port 22 can create problems in long run. We dont allow SSH on port 22 on any of our servers besides 3 of our servers which are reserved for customers who demand SSH access.
