Data privacy

This is really a post-sales enquiry but..
Is there a eukhost privacy policy related to data in for example MySQL Server databases held on your servers and backed up by you? Clearly it is my responsibility to ensure that web access to these is controlled of course.

Thanks. I am not quite clear about data that may be in a database that I create. This has not been collected by you (as in 'The below stated policy applies to all types of data & information collected by eUKHost.com ') and yet may be commercially sensitive to me or a client of mine. Does your policy include the respecting of this need for confidentiality by your employees who may have access to it?

Hi Norman,

Our staff members never download any data from any of our servers. We do migrate accounts from one server to other server owned by eUKhost, but our firewalls don't allow any of our staff members to connect to servers from outside and no one can misuse any data uploaded by any of our customers.

Well, strictly speaking that is questionable, for instance I do believe that some off web site hosting backup servers are hosted in the US of A.

I am no lawyer but EU data protection laws are not applicable in the USA and therefore as long as a set of data (ie a database of some sort) is not original work (in other words copyrighted) then there is no protection on it...
