Hi,

I am interested in setting up a windows dedicated server, but have a few questions.

1: We sell adult toys and lingerie, is this acceptable on your dedicted servers?

2: Our current host is "acompany" and our nameservers are ns1.acompany.net and ns2.acompany.net, would the nameservers for you be ns1.eukhost.net and ns2.eukhost.net? The reason I ask this is that some hosting companies want us to set up our own nameservers and I have had severe problems with this in the past, so would prefer not to do it.

3: We have a number of websites. Can I host as many as I want on your servers?

4: In what country are your servers?

5: Will you control all of the software upgrades and monitor the server?

6: I will want to add my own software to the server (an email ticketing system and help desk software). Can I do this and if I get into problems when installing the software will you help and/or install the software for me (I understand if you would make a charge for this)?

Hello Steve,

I have answered all your questions as follows :-

1: We sell adult toys and lingerie, is this acceptable on your dedicted servers?
Ans :- We have no problems if you sell adult toys and lingerie from your website on your dedicated server as thats not illegal in UK. All you need to ensure is that you don't sell any illegal products from your websites.

2: Our current host is "acompany" and our nameservers are ns1.acompany.net and ns2.acompany.net, would the nameservers for you be ns1.eukhost.net and ns2.eukhost.net? The reason I ask this is that some hosting companies want us to set up our own nameservers and I have had severe problems with this in the past, so would prefer not to do it.
Ans :- We provide 2 options for our customers and they can use our nameservers or have their private nameservers if needed. Our windows Dedicated servers are fully managed servers so you can use our nameservers if you want.

3: We have a number of websites. Can I host as many as I want on your servers?
Ans :- Yes. You can host as many websites you want unless you overload your servers CPU. A P4 server can handle close to 300 dynamic websites without any problems so that should be sufficient for you as per my guess.

4: In what country are your servers?
Ans :- UK. Datacenter information is available on our about us page located at http://www.eukhost.com/uk-web-hosting.php

5: Will you control all of the software upgrades and monitor the server?
Ans :- Yes. We take care of those as our windows system admins are expert in that. We have our owned monitoring software to monitor all our servers.

6: I will want to add my own software to the server (an email ticketing system and help desk software). Can I do this and if I get into problems when installing the software will you help and/or install the software for me (I understand if you would make a charge for this)?
Ans :- We can help you with the installation of softwares but we will charge incase the installation would take more than 1 hour. We charge £15 per hour in case of custom software installation and configuration.

I have gone through the forum and noted what people have said about your quick response and your quick answer has certainly proved this.

I need to work out what set up we want, so will be signing up tomorrow.
