Default Dedicated Server hosting for large Vb Forum

Hi peeps,

I am looking at upgrade options to get better performance from my ASO server.

I have a forum based website hosting which at present can average 200 users at any one time.

Can you suggest a suitable package and are the servers UK based?

all my members are UK and i sometimes wonder if performance is lost using a US hosting company.

what dedicated package would you recommend?

would I get help with moving?

do you accept monthly paypal payments?

thanks for any advice

Hello Netrover,

If you have around 200 - 300 members online at a time then our 3060 Dual Core Xeon with 2 GB RAM should be sufficient for you. If you expect growth in members and if that can cross over 500 members at a time then you should consider the x3210 Server with 4 GB RAM.

We host some big website hostings on x3210 Server and this Quad Core Xeon server never has any problem no matter if you get more than 2000 visitors at a particular time. You can visit http://www.eukhost.com/dedicated.php to see pricing information for both configurations with various RAM and HDD options.

Our servers are UK based and your members will see huge difference in browsing speed on our servers as our Servers are on a 100 Mbps network and the Datacenter has got 15 Gbps backbone from different Carriers.

We can also provide you with additional remote backup space on which we can setup daily rsync backup of the database and weekly backup for the files and configuration. We have expertise in security of servers and added remote backup solution will make this offer perfect for your requirements.

Hi again, thanks for the quick reply.

I came up with this on your plans:- Main Package Linux Dedicated Server:
1-Month @ £0.00 + Setup: FREE
CPU Selection: Intel Xeon 3060 Dual Core £119.00

Hard Disk: 160 GB SATA ( Free )

Memory Options: 2 GB DDR RAM £25.00

Control Panel: cPanel £20.00

Bandwidth: 2000 GB - Free

Operating System: Linux CentOS 4.4 ( Free )

RAID: No RAID

Partitioning: /var = 10GB, /usr = 10GB, /tmp = 2GB, / = 5GB, /home = remaining space

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Package(s) Total £164.00

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sub Total £164.00
Total Due £164.00*

.................but can you advise me if there is a need to change the operating system for Vbulletin? I'm not sure what my host uses at the moment.

Is there VAT to add to the prices?

Would I be best to make a transfer using cpanel features?

I don't think there is a need to change the Operating System for vBulletin. It will run fine on both Linux as well as Windows OS.

VAT won't be added to the prices of plans as VAT is already included in all our pricing.

Transfer would be easy using the cPanel features, you can also contact our support team if you need any assistance with the transfer.

It's been a year since I posted but I just want to say I have placed my order and will be leaving my current hosting contract and coming on board as soon as my Dedicated Server is setup.

Thank you Ryan for your patience over the last week.

Hopefully I wont test your patience in my move across shortly.

Glad to see that you didn't forget us even after 1 year

I hope you have chosen new configuration from our website hosting as we don't sell any of the configurations that we had before 1 year. Our new servers are cheaper as well as high specification in comparison to what we had before 1 year
