Hi

I am thinking of hosting one or two web websites here using the Windows Web Hosting offering (probably Bronze).

Does anyone know of any problems with hosting the latest version of DotNetNuke on this hosting plan?


[Edit] Oops, I forgot the obvious - I already know the plan supports the basic requirements of .NET 2.0 and SQL Server, I was just wondering if anyone has any exerience of this or has encountered problems.

People usually face problems with the latest DNN installation/upgradation on our (or any other hosting company's) windows servers, but our admins get it fixed & working for them within no time Be assured that your DNN based site(s) will face no problems with us. Also, we have ASP.Net 1.1, 2.0 & 3.0 installed on our servers along with MSSQL 2000 & 2005 Express. I think he put "ta" at the end as in to say thank you as opposed to it being a name. Back on topic - support are very helpful (as you can see from the customer testamonials section) so I don't think you will have any problems that they can't fix .

I can assure you that DotNetNuke works fine on all our windows packages with MSSQL 2005 Express. I have already installed over 20 DNN (latest 4.05.05) application for different clinets and they are happily using them without any problems.

I too am interested in hosting websites (possibly through a reseller package) - what support is there (& do you have any running) for e-commerce payment modules for dotnetnuke (specifically CATAlook or snowcovered)

The reseller packages are equiped with PHP and MySQL, which most e-commerce systems are able to run off. I can't give you too much advise, as I'm not an expert in this subject, but, I can tell you that there are e-commerce systems which you can install easily through your reseller control panel.

the subject of this thread is DotNetNuke - it is a .net app, and has payment modules - so not a very helpful reply I'm afraid... maybe someone who knows about dotnetnuke could help please?

Hello Chris,

We have some customers running DNN on some of our windows servers and so far they had no such problems. I am not sure about which payment modules they use but they have it up and running on our servers.

DNN has got inbuilt support for payment gateways and all you need to do is configure those with necessary information.
