Default Few Question

Peace everyone.

I have a few questions on my mind that you can help me with.

1. I am trying to build or better yet, move my old forum to a new hosting company.
there is a short story behind this. not the time for it now... this is a result of a misunderstanding of the hosting company, my friend who registered everything in his name and might keep everything with him.. however, i had created a backup of the forums.. now the website is currently down. my friend has no interest in the forums because its about my hometown and he's not from there.

anyway, the question, if i set up the forum on your hosting company and my friend tried to contact you in anyway, will my site get deleted? I can discuss further details with any admin here about the situation in private if they asked so.

2. i want to host pictures and maybe audio or video.. besides the forum this could be in the future.. can i upgrade from gold if i chose to?

3. my database is in arabic charset.. when i import the database, will i encounter problems with charset of mysql? I believe latin charset will be needed for this part?

this is it for now.. thank you.

Thumbs up

Hello.. All of your issues can be fixed at eUKHost
As 2 questions are answered by Brian himself [thanx Brian ], regarding the third one, I assure you that won't face any problems with the MySQL charset.
Once you signup with us, open up a ticket with our support dept, we'd get your site transferred from your earlier host or you/we can restore the account from the backups you have. Also, you're most welcome to be a member of the EUKHost community

Hello Nasr,

Welcome to the forum. We won't delete your forum for no reason on your friend's insistence, however in case of copyright or legal issues you may have to remove the objectionable content.

Package upgrade won't be a problem at all, you can upgrade your plan at any point of time as per your requirement.

Regarding database import, MySQL charset won't be a problem and our support department will take care of the transfer and restoration of the database after your package is set-up with us.

ok sorry everyone i know i've told you i was going to sign within the 24 hour period.

but i had to get some things striaght with the guy first.. anyway a few more questions before i decide

i have around 600 members on my forum. this is expected to grow. the main reason i am moving my site to a more secure company because the first company didnt keep the uptime promise.

1.what hosting plan will be able to handle this amount of users..

2.how many concurrent users can i have on my site at a time before i reach the mysql limit?

i've read plenty of good reviews about your company . am just trying to make sure everything is covered before i sign up.

thank u

Hello Nasr,

You can start with our Gold or Platinum shared hosting plan. This plan(s) is sufficient to allow 200 cocurrent users on the forum. You can consider higher plans once you start getting good returns from high traffic on your forum.

The domain you already have registered - all you need do is change the nameserver info with whoever you registered the domain with. When you sign up EUK will send you a welcome email with the appropriate namesever info in it.
AFAIK there is no need to take out a new domain just to sign up for a hosting plan - but yes, if you did you can have both going to the same forum
Regards

To use an existing domain with our hosting, you have to change the 'nameservers' so that they point to our servers. Once you place an order, you will receive a Welcome Email with all the relevant details. Among other things it will contain our nameservers. When you have our nameservers, you will then have to contact your current registrar and get them to update your domain name with our nameservers.

If you choose to sign-up for a new domain with the package, 1st year's domain registration will be free. You can use both the domains to point to your forums.

This is just to inform that the best way to contact support is either Live Chat or submitting the ticket by login at http://support.eukhost.com
