Default A Few Shared Hosting Questions

Hey,

I am looking into ordering a web host probably the silver version. I would just like to ask a few questions about the web hosting plans (all not just the silver).

Firstly i read that they have unlimited Mysql databases, was i misreading something or is this true?

How big are the databases? My old ones on my 1&1 hosting were 100mb each.

Are the prices including VAT?

I understand i get a free 1 year domain name, is this a .co.uk domain?

Can i renew the hosting and the domain together when the time comes?

That's it for now i think... some more may come to me.

Thanks in advance.

Although I am not personally on the plan the unlimited MySQL databases is true. I also believe that the size is unlimited.

The prices on the website hosting are the final prices charged (inclusive of VAT)

Regarding a .co.uk domain I am unsure. .co.uk domain names have to be registered for a minimum of 2 years so I think you would have to pay for the second year up front at registration time.

Renewal can occur at the same time of both hosting and the domain name from your online account and through support.

Although I am not working for eUKhost I believe I have got the answers to these questions right. I am sure someone from eUKhost will correct any answers I have got wrong.

Hope that helps

Hello Muncey,

Welcome to the forum,

You can have unlimited MySQL Databases with any of our shared and reseller packages.

There is no prescribed limit on the size for MySQL databases. You can have as many databases of different sizes as long as enough disk space is available in your account.

The prices are inclusive of VAT.

.co.uk domains are also free for 1 year with yearly shared packages but you will need to pay for the second year’s registration at the time of sign-up as .co.uk domains are registered and renewed for minimum of 2 years as per the rules of Nominet.

You can renew the hosting and domain together when the time comes.

Feel free to ask if you have any further queries.

Thanks a lot both of you.

How much is the domain name for the 2nd year?

So if i was to buy the copper version the full price upfront would be: £29.99 (for the hosting) then the price of the domain for the 2nd year.. and thats it?

You will need to pay £9 for the second year's registration for a .co.uk domain. The price of Linux Copper plan is £22.99/Year and Windows Copper is £29.99/Year. Add £9 as the 2nd year's domain registration fees, that amounts to £31.99/Year and £38.99/Year respectively.

Yes. I believe the .co.uk domains are £9 per year so should be around £38 in total I think.

It will all be confirmed when you register anyway the exact price.

Hope that helps

I will hopefully be buying a hosting packages with you shortly but first me and another person are trying to think of a name for the website hosting.

I have one more question about the domain thing, i looked at the charges and i saw that the .com was only a year, does this mean if we get the .com we pay nothing for the domain? or do we have to pay for 2 years like the .co.uk domain.

Just to confirm, if we go for .co.uk we pay half of the price and get it for 2 years? It says: ".co.uk £18 - 2 Years registration" does this mean that i pay £9 and get it for 2 years?

Thanks a lot

.com domain would be free for the first year with the package so for the first year you don't need to pay anything for the domain. if you wish to register it for 2 years you can pay the £9 fees for the second year at the time of sign-up and get it registered for 2 years.

Similarly .co.uk is free for the first year but UK TLDs are to be registered for a minimum of 2 years so you will need to pay £9 for the second year's registration at the time of sign-up.

Feel free to ask if you have any further queries in this regard.
