Free Domain Name?

The package I want says 'free domain' but when I order it and select the name I want it says 2 years @ 9.99?

You only get a free domain name if you pay for hosting by the year, not if you pay monthly, and only some TLDs that can be registered for 1 year are offered free. Here's the price list according to EUK:

.net £9 - 1 Year registration**

.co.uk £9 - 2 Years registration ( 1 year free and 1 year charged )
.org.uk £9 - 2 Years registration( 1 year free and 1 year charged )

I would like to repeat once again. .co.uk domains are registered for 2 years but we give domain name free for 1 year only. If you had registered a .com domain name then the domain would have been free but .co.uk domains are registered for 2 years minimum as per policies of nominet and thats the reason we charge for 2nd years registration.

Basic reason behind giving domain name free for 1st year is to allow a potential customer to get started with his / her website with low cost and establish the web website in 1 years time span. Most of the customers get their websites established in 1 year and once your website becomes more successfuly then you have no problem in paying domain renewal fee's for next year.
